Today's Verse
The Pastor at Faith Baptist Church is Jeff Steele. Jeff and his wife Sherry came to Faith after a wonderful "road" ministry where as a family group they traveled as The Steeles. Jeff and Sherry have three children...Christy, 24 is a student at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville and works in Special Education at Vinemont High School, Kayla, 20 is employed with a local Physician and will be getting married April 18th of this year and Bradley, 15 is a freshman in High School- he is 6'1", 250 lbs and is a medal winning power lifter and an offensive and defensive lineman on the football team. Jeff is a Grammy nominated song writer and The Steeles were recipients of several awards including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Jeff was twice named the BMI Gospel Songwriter of the Year. The family has conducted several revival meetings and crusades all over the country and Jeff is still much in demand as a speaker. Jeff and Sherry have been married 27 years this year and are happy to be settled down in Vinemont.
Jeff is so thrilled to have had the number one song in the nation on the Singing News Chart for November. The song Whispered Prayers is a song Jeff co-wrote with Earl Galloway.
The song I’m Raised which is a co-write with Jeff and T.J. Mauldin was recorded here at Faith Baptist Church in Vinemont (with the Faith Baptist Church Choir) was released and topped out at number 28 on the Singing News chart. The response has been tremendous. The project was recorded as part of the fundraising efforts for the new office complex and fellowship hall at Faith. The new building with an appraised value of 1.25 million dollars is now complete and is a beautiful 10,000 square foot addition to the church.
Karen Peck and New River were at Faith for our 2nd annual Homecoming Jubilee in August of 2008. Also here were Ricky Atkinson, The Steeles and the Faith Baptist Church Choir.
